About us
Paul Edwards started SVP in
2002. For four years prior to that he was the service manager of a large Independent Land
Rover Specialist, a position that followed a long career as a
Land Rover mechanic. |
||
He has worked for 20 years
exclusively on the Land Rover range, including Race, Expedition and “One off”
preparation / modification, as well as general day to day servicing. |
||
Still enjoying his work, Paul decided to
embark on an endeavour to satisfy the need that seems to be emerging in
light of the ongoing development of Land Rover vehicles. |
||
With the ever increasing
complexity of electro-mechanical systems on these vehicles, there is a
definite market for a “one marque” specialist, someone with a combination of
experience and up to the minute diagnostic equipment and techniques who can
provide solutions for all faults, all repairs and all requirements both
quickly and economically. |

The main piece of equipment central to the Land Rover marque is the Autologic diagnostic platform. This offers all the "main dealer" levels of fault diagnostics and programming as well as many more facilities specific to Autologic. One main advantage over the main dealer "Testbook "IDS" and "WDS"is that Autologic is totally portable and able to offer dynamic data whilst the vehicle is on road test, rather than being static and only able to be viewed under workshop conditions. |
|
Another essential piece of equipment is the Oscilloscope. We use a Fluke Scopemeter 196C and the latest Pico 2 and 4 channel PC based scopes. In the event of the Autologic serial diagnostics failing to provide sufficient information to identify or prove a fault, the oscilloscope provides invaluable information in the search for a solution, being able to carry out highly accurate measurements of voltage, current and using a Pico Technologies "Firstlook" Piezo electric transducer, pressure and vacuum can also be analysed |

The old myth of the Motor trade being full of dishonest rogues is gradually disappearing, by promoting a professional image and adopting good working practices, We feels, all areas of the trade will gradually be perceived by other trades and public alike as a much more respectable industry. Hopefully as a direct result of this, the majority of our work comes through word of mouth and recommendation. We regularly attend courses and seminars on the latest technologies, fault diagnostic techniques and Land Rover specific training |
